Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
By accessing North Search at northsearch.uk you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The Service
North Search provides a database of boutique finance, consulting and investment firms based outside London - principally across Northern England, the Midlands and Scotland - along with tools for research, outreach tracking, and firm management. Some features require a paid Premium subscription.

3. Account
You must register to access certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

4. Subscription and Billing
Premium access is billed monthly at the price shown at checkout. By subscribing you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. Prices are in GBP. We are not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.

5. Cancellation and Refunds
You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time from your account page or by emailing info@northsearch.uk. Cancellation stops future billing; you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

As a consumer, you'd normally have a 14-day statutory right to cancel a new subscription for a full refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Because Premium gives you full access to the directory the moment you subscribe, starting your subscription counts as asking us to begin the service straight away - so once you've accessed it, that 14-day refund right no longer applies.

Outside of that, payments already taken are non-refundable, except where we're required by law to refund you or where you've been charged in error - email us and we'll sort it out quickly.

6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to scrape, copy, redistribute, or commercialise any data from the platform; attempt unauthorised access; use the service for any unlawful purpose; or interfere with the service's integrity or performance.

7. Intellectual Property
All content, data, and software on the platform are owned by or licensed to North Search. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for personal research purposes only.

8. Data Accuracy
Firm data is provided for informational purposes only. We make no warranty as to its completeness or accuracy. Independently verify any information before relying on it for professional decisions.

9. Limitation of Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, North Search excludes all implied warranties and shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Our total liability shall not exceed amounts paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
